New Heathens

Field of Stars

It was a real pleasure to get to shine with three fantastic singer/songwriters at the Field of Stars show at Banjo Jim's on Sunday night. I appreciated the challenge of having to bring my "A" game to hold my own with great musicians. What I loved most though was hearing new, excellent songs. Here are my raves, complete with web links so you can hear 'em/buy 'em yourself.  "It's A Free Country," by Gene Casey (in the cowboy hat) was a kick, "Boy Who Loved the Blues," by Li'l Mo a.k.a. Monica Passin (far left)  gave me tummy butterflies and "Like A Wheel," by Mary Battiata (silk jacket) is my new favorite song, stuck on repeat in the car CD player (her "Ten Feet High" is a killer too).

We went clockwise and all took turns playing. I did "Gaps In My Resume," "Proud Highway," "Elemental," "Bastard Like Me," "Halo of Blue," "Lucky Day," and "July 1, Near Helena, MT." Appreciated my friends Anna and Devin for coming out. Also was pleased to meet a very cool music fan and photographer named Jessy Dunn, who snapped and shared all the pix you see here. Thanks, Jessy.
