Good Morning Kentuckiana!

Sometimes you end up in strange places doing bizarre things. Like boozing on the set of "Good Morning Kentuckiana" in Louisville, Kentucky.

On Saturday my brews brother John Holl and I were guests on "Good Morning Kentuckiana" on Louisville's WHAS 11 ("Whassup?") to hawk our book, "Indiana Breweries." New Albany, Indiana lies just across the broad, brown Ohio River from Louisville, hence this region's mash-up nickname, "Kentuckiana."

John wore a bow tie. I jittered and mugged because I was nervous. Click here to watch how it went down.

Never in my life did I picture myself waking up to chase Waffle House with beer on live TV in the Bible Belt.

I was reminded of the words of a famous beer-for-breakfast champion, Hunter S. Thompson. He grew up in this house in Louisville, and it's still allegedly riddled with his bulletholes. He once said, "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

Res ipsa loquitur.
